Does exercise distort my fasting blood test results?

I have to take a fasting blood test for glucose and cholesteral after fasting for 14 hours. I am told however that exercise distorts blood sugar. Can I exercise an hour or so before the test and still get accurate results?

Exercise defiantly will affect your blood sugar levels. I know this from personal experience due to the fact that I have Type 1 diabetes. Your results will probably not fall within your normal range, because one of the most important things that I have to be aware of is, before I start to exercise, is to make sure that my blood sugars are high enough in order to prevent me from having a low blood sugar reaction due to strenuous activity. My advice to you is to wait until after your test, and then you can return to your normal routine.

To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.

no you shouldnot make any exercise before test as the fasting blood glucose will slightly increase after exercise due to the glycogen breakdown and the  decrease in insulin level in blood.
