Alan Freed, the legendary Cleveland DJ, may not have invented Rock & Roll, but he was the one who popularized the term & introduced millions of young people to rhythm & blues music.  Until he came along, "Race Records" (as they were called then) were not played on radio stations targeting white audiences. 

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
