My fiance' is a singer. Can anyone, out there, tell me ... what effects hernia surgery has on the ability to sing, thereafter? He couldn't sing at all, prior to surgery. After a larger inquineal hernia removal, My fiance' thought he'd be able to sing again. (Hard Rock singer). The high notes and maintaining that "punch" isn't there, yet. It's been nearly a year. What can be done? Abdominal exercises or the help of an ear/nose/throat doctor?? What?? Mary Lee (I just erroneously clicked on "found the answer" but I haven't, so--- please respond. Advise. "Thanks, Mary Lee"
When you sing, and I mean properly, your abs work pretty hard, amongst other muscles. If you had an abdomen surgery it will take a lot of time to recover the form that you had before the surgery. So, tell him to be patient.
Just tell your husband to work out abdominal area because those are the muscles that will carry the weight of the voice, especially in the case of hard rocker.
