Getting message(the main IDX database file is damaged)I have tried to uninstall and reinstall aol and it will not work.please help

I suppose that IDX is index file.

Try to drop and recreate it. If you can't, simply drop it, maybe the app wiil makes this file by itself.

when you get the warning"the idx database file has been damaged",my case it was aol,you must completely remove all aol files.then reload a fresh version of aol.Do not reload aol from the memory from your computer files,"they are corrupt".you can remove files by clicking on the start menu ,then my computer,then add or delete programs.delete anything that says aol.then reload the fresh aol disk in your computer.If this does not work you can,using a different computer, download the aol files from the internet and put them on a flash drive(which plugs into the usb port)and transfer the files that way.you might need aol tech support to assist with this transfer.
