how to enroll in the Healthy Way LA program?
Healthy Way LA is a no cost health program that provides health care coverage to low-income uninsured adult legal residents who are current users of our LA County DHS health care system. For more information call Healthy Way LA Customer Services at 1-877-333-HWLA or 1-877-333-4952.
Step 1 - Make sure you are eligible for Healthy Way LA

Step 2 - Gather the required documents to apply for Healthy Way LA
If you meet the initial Healthy Way LA eligibility listed above, your next step is to apply for services. You need to make sure you have all of the following documents required by Healthy Way LA. These documents include:
For Citizenship / Residency
NOTE: If you do not have a U.S. Passport, Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or Permanent Resident Card, bring one document from each category:
1) U.S. Birth Certificate or Military Service Form that shows place of birth

2) Driver’s License, or School Identification with Photo, or U.S. Military Identification Card

Note: If you appear to be eligible for Medi-Cal or Healthy Families, you must cooperate with those programs before applying for HWLA by completing a Medi-Cal or Healthy Families application.

Note: You may apply at any of the medical homes listed in the Healthy Way LA Provider Directory, but this in not the recommended process by the operator(s) on the HWLA Hotline (1-877-333-4952). You can/may be assigned to a medical home (where you get care) closer to your location by applying at one of the above HWLA facilities.
