Your dipstick should be the guide on how much oil u need when it reaches the correct level.

When changing the oil and oil filter you will need 6.1 Quarts to refill to full. I would put in 6 quarts after you drain the oil and replace the filter. Then start it up and let it run for a minute, shut it back off for a 5 minutes and recheck to see where it's at on the dipstick.
