If you are using AOL webmail, http://webmail.aol.com, to add a signature to your outgoing email, go to the Settings area (top right corner next to Help) and click on the Compose section.  Within the Compose section you'll see an option to add a Signature.  Change the dropdown from "No signature" to "Use signature" and just type what you want into the text box. Note: Webmail only supports a plain text signature.

If you are using the AOL software ( AOL 9.X or Desktop), open a new email and at the bottom is a drop down menu for Signature.  The AOL software can support rich text.

Outgoing mail signature

On AOL software (like 9.7) use menu Mail, Set Mail Signatures. If you are using mail.aol.com, use Options, Settings, Compose, and look under Rich Text to find Signatures.
