It sounds like you need to change your Display Name in AOL Mail.  To do this, try logging into http://mail.aol.com/ and clicking 'Settings' near the top right of the screen.  Then, click the 'Compose' tab to the left of the screen, which should bring up, among other things, the option to change "Your 'From' Name."  Change this to your desired name and click save.

Ask the sender to send it to you again. If you are the sender and were not doing it in a word processor, then you are out of luck.
