Was it an Egyptian Moth?

Last night I found a very large moth. Someone told me it was an "Egyptian Moth". I was looking for photos to confirm this along with information about it's life cycle, habits, etc.

was it this? http://www.cirrusimage.com/moth_hieroglyphic.htm if so you should find the info you are asking for

Thanks for your reply.  However, no that is not the moth in question.  This moth was about 4" across the wingspan and the wings folded up like a butterfly not like a fly as your moth's do.  My moth had very dark brown wings with tinges of orange.  Also, there were 4 "eyes" evenly spaced across it's wings.  I don't have a picture to post of it.  Hopefully I will be able to find a site with pictures of moths and butterflies and find out just what it was.  Once again, Thanks.    TR

They are also known as flour moths.  Here you go

Thanks for the reply, but no that is not the same moth either.  Maybe I can do some more research and find a picture to post.  Once again, thanks.
