If an 18 year old wants to enroll in a high school ...

If an 18 year old wants to enroll in a high school and has a history of truancy, disipline issues, past DAEP placement, and drug useage... does the high school have to allow him to enroll?

Most schools have policies regarding this. Your best bet would be to speak with the principal and/or school board and find out what their policy is. There are also many different kinds of alternative schools as well! Good luck!

No, the high school is under no obligation to let him enroll. Back when I was of high school age, like in the Jurassic era, they had, I think they were called, continuation schools, in which people who had dropped out or had had problems could study to get their GED, which is the same as graduation from high school. If your son wishes to continue his education by going to college or whatever, a GED is as good as.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.
