Can you dye lamp oil

Can anyone tell me how to dye lamp oil or even if itis possible.  I'm talkingabout the clear oil used in "hurricane" lamps aka kerosene lamps.I want redto go with my decor, and can find no redlamp oil, only clear & blue. Food coloring will not work asis water based & will seperate.

I'm sure it's possible because every Christmas season scented and colored lamp oils are for sale in my area.  As to how it's done, I can't say, but the answer is out there somewhere.  The colors I recall seeing were red and gold.
