Have you checked to ensure you do not have things set to record? The light will illuminate if the receiver is currently recording, if you have not set anything to record then I would recommend checking your, "My Recordings" you can do so by pressing the DVR button on your DISH Network remote, next screen select My Recordings, on the following screen you will select schedule. Once in the schedule screen you will be able to see what programs are set to record & will be able to edit accordingly if you determine there are programs on there set to record that you did not set up. I hope this helps! Please feel free to contact me if this doesn't resolve your issue & we can further troubleshoot the problem. My e-mail is- Kirstie.filosa@Dishnetwork.com.

What kind of dvr are you using? There are some dvrs that registers a blinking light of its in the process recording. Sometimes they register a solid blue or red light. If you think its not common to your dvr having those light turned on even if you're not recording, maybe you should try to reset your electrical equipment by pressing the power button for 10 seconds. Check if the light goes off.
