Dry tasteless beautiful peaches

Why do Major Chain Grocery store have such beautiful peaches that are almost inedible? In past 5 years I have noticed it is almost impossible to buy a good tasting peach. I shop Kroger, Walmart, Publics, and Ingles. Only at Ingles on a few occasions have I found good soft, juicy, peach scent, sweet good tasting peaches. I get a good peach maybe 1 out of 10 times. These are not all west coast fruits, but some are labeled southern, Ga. or South Carolina peaches. I have found only good peaches labeled as South Carolina and not many of them. I want a peach that is not crispy, dry, and no taste.

Why? Because all vegetables and produce are picked before they're ripe and the ripened artificially. Unfortunately, the process of ripening naturally in the sun is what produces the sugars and flavors of fruit. To get good fruit and produce, try a farmer's market.

Tomatoes and lemons are my particular peeves so far as store food. Tomatoes in the store never have good flavor because they're green when picked and haven't developed the flavor yet, or developed the natural sugars that offset the acidity of tomatoes. Lemons in the grocery store just suck. I grew up on a farm. I picked ripe lemons off the trees and ate them. Yes, they were sour, but they also had sweetness due to the sugars. Supermarket lemons aren't even sour, just bitter.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

Sorry to say you want a real peach you got to go to a farm and pick it yourself or a farmers market... otherwise all supermarket fruit is picked green and rippened by nitrogin or radiaton to give a great color with no taste.
