Why ask a question that can only be answered by speculation?  Nobody knows yet, and we'll all know soon enough.

A deep unhappiness and emptiness that money could not fill killed Whitney Houston just as it does so many in the spotlight.

Money surely does not buy happiness.

You ask if the drugs killed her...yes and no..she self- abused with the drugs and she had the money and choice to rehab, unlike the average person,the human body can only take so much..it was her decision to take then, so where does responsibilty for ourselves start and end ? It is a loss of a great voice, which was God's gift to her, she evidently didn't cherish it..

Not issue was not yet confirmed but probably the drugs bring her to death. Some also says that it was a heart attack but again it was not yet confirmed.
