As far as his saying nothing, I don't really think that means anything in particular unless maybe it means that he doesn't have to say a word in order for you to know he loved you. No, I think your dream just means you miss your father and you wish he was still with you.

It means that you loved your dad and you miss him. that's quite normal and there's no hidden meaning.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

Very normal to dream about someone you truely loved and you miss a lot.  It only means that you really realy want him back !.  Very understandable (as you were very close and I am sure you loved him with all your heart).   Your dear dad passed this year so memories are still very fresh.
