According to what I read on msnbc.com, military families and soldiers have tried to buy Dragon Skin believing it offers better protection. But the Army banned the armor last year. So not many have it.

Think with your head, not your a$$.

The problem is first it would cost around $5000 not $500 but $5000 yes it is worth it to save a life, but then there is another problem, iraq is hot! The dragonskin armor that is available for purchase is defective at around 95 degreese farenheit and up so the "FLAk" as its called may be crap but it will be much more effective armor in iraq and afghanistan. Even if you were to get around all that the military bans all non issued armor! Therefore even if you did buy it you wouldn't be able to wear it, and if somehow you found a loophole and could, you would end up dead if you got shot anyway, and if they found the body wearing illegal armor, your family wouldn't get the $400,000 or whatever the casualty money is. So don't waste your time.
