I have used Promeris flea medication for my chihuahua and it doesn't seem to work! I have found that she is still finding fleas on her in the middle of the month ! Is the a better medication i can get for her to use that is waterproof since i bathe her reguarly ?
Comfortis is a new chewable tablet that you give once a month, and it works AWESOME (awesomely?) I live in SW/Central Florida and my yard is FULL of oak and pine trees - 2 favorites of southern fleas. I have not seen one flea in the past 8 months. Money-saving tip - buy the size for a dog twice as large as yours, and you can break the tabs in half so your 6-month supply will last a year. For instance, if you have a 10-lb dog, get the 20-lb size and give 1/2 tab once a month. I am a veterinary technician at a holistic practice, and this is the primary flea-prevention product we endorse, but I was using it before I started working there. Because it's oral/ingested, you don't have that greasy residue from the topical applications, and you can bathe as much as you need to, using any type of dog shampoo.
