I just got home and found that my dog has a lump that is very red and hard right next to her butt hole... what can this be and what can I do to help her?  I am on a low budget and cant afford to take her to a vet right now....

I would give my pet a small amount of an antihistimine(taking into consideration the size of the pet)  then I would put cold compress on the swollen part.  If the swelling does not show signs of reducing, or completely gone in a couple of hours, then you have no choice but to call your vet.

Since your post was 29 days ago, I hope that aren't still waiting for someone to tell you what you already know.  Call your vet. if you dont have a regular vet, call several and ask about making payments.  I would suspect that your dog's  problem is an impacted anal gland.  It could also be a splinter from the dog scooting across the floor or porch trying to relieve the pressure or itching from the gland.  Please try to get the dog to a vet.  At least call and ask them about the problem and any thing you could do to try to remedy the problem.

How do i keep my english bull dog from overheating?

English Bulldogs are notorious for heat problems. It can be best to limit the dog's exposure on hot days to what a tired old man could handle. If the dog begins to snort, it is time to douse the dog with cool water and seek shade.
