Dogs, like people, are not all the same.

Some dogs might choose to go away and experience their demise alone. People who are romantic tend to believe this is because the dog doesn't want her owner to suffer, but I'm not sure about this theory.

I had a dog who was very old, and by the end of her years couldn't really walk or even stand, and she just died in her sleep one day.

Before my dog died a few years ago, he looked very very pale and he had the most touching stare. He also went into a quiet corner away from everyone. :(

Do dogs understand when they are dying

Interesting question. I think understand is too strong a word. To understand dogs would have to have a concept of death. I doubt that they do. However I'm sure they are aware that something is wrong. Hope this is somewhat helpful.

Dog'a Colored poop

The first thing that comes to mind is rat poison. I've heard that since the little blocks of poison are greenish, the first sign is colored poop. But then you have to take them to the vet asap to be able to save them, because if you wait for the bleeding symptom to start (it could take a week or ...
