I have a pressure treated deck which is painted with deck paint. Not sure if it is a solid stain or paint. It was purchased from Sherwin Williams. Each year for 12 years we paint it, this year the paint practically pealed off the rest is pretty much stuck on. I have taken a heat gun and scrapped the paint and then I sanded it. Some paint is still on. I was thinking about use some type of chemical to strip the remaining. My question is which product should I use and what would you recommend to finish it. Should we paint again or stain. The rails and spindles are all painted. I was not planning on touching the railings or spindles. I do want to make sure it will all look good.
