How do you expiate first impressions?

How do you overcome a negative first impression?  I always exorcise them and rely on the next day's interactions.  There are lots of ways to do this.  Sometimes just the wave of a hand is enough to dispel a badly given first impression.

There are spirits around us who do us terrible harm unless we send them away.  They have no power besides suggestion.  When we rise above that we gain lasting peace.

What is your favorite method?

Are you asking about when a person has a bad impression of me upon first meeting me or the other way around?

Oh.  I used dispiate because most of us here use such words.  It means to remove and dismiss a thought.  Would you rather I used the more familiar term, expiate?  It means to invoke a dismissal.

If you do not master your destiny, it will master you.

You originally had "dispiate".  I can't find that in any dictionary.  I think you meant "dissipate".  Or perhaps something like "dispel".

The first time I ate broccoli I did not like it but then I put some cheese on it and found it palatable.

So I put some variations of condiments on the experience and try it again.
