I'm facing the same problem as you at this very moment. If you get answering please redirect them to me as well. Thank you

You need to remove the two squirter buttons. A small screwdriver can be used to pop out the little tangs that hold them in. There is a tang (or hook-like thingy) on the outside edge of each squirt button and at the back or narrow end of each. There is a screw under the buttons. I don't know how much the heating foot will cost or even if it is cheaper to buy a new iron. But I destroyed the handle cover in the attempt to learn this. Good luck with yours. One of my engineering professors said it best - "Take it apart as soon as you can. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on and you will get more value out of seeing how it's made anyway".

Bogy.

Hi handymanbogy, the version I have has two buttons on top: orange marked "Up for Steam" and a brown one marked "Spray - Spray". The former adjusts to two positions and the latter rotates clock and counter-clockwise but there does not seem to be any thread or indication of imminent separation. I disconnected various things at the back which frees the rear of the base plate but this remains connected at the front. Please advise on how to proceed. Thanks very much.

I have the same type as 'mister4' and figured it out.  The plate labeled "OFF/FILL 1 2 3 4 5 6 7" will slide forward and out if lifted over the front lip of the base.  Under it are two screws -- removing them will allow handle top to be removed.  Next, disassemble all the spray and heat buttons. Notice 2 holes across from each other.  Using a #2 (or #1) Phillips head having a shaft length > 3½ inches, remove the two screws and you're in.

I hate to be the one to state the obvious, but ironing requires one hand on the actual iron and the other hand on the article of clothing. While holding the article in place on a flat surface, move the hot iron over the crease and the crease will come out.
