Can termite feces make humans sick? Or even cause death?

I have wondered the same thing since watching an episode of "House" where a young man became very ill after his dog dies from exposure to termite frass.  However, on my 2.5 hour surfing trip I have only found minimal information on the internet saying, "termite frass/dung is not harmful to humans" and then another news article stating, "that it could agravate asthmatics".

I was hoping to find more scientific information regarding the health risks of termite feces (frass). Maybe some of the heavy hitters in the health industry since the pest companies have a monopoly on the "termite info" for marketing purposes.

Please let me know if you uncover anything more substantial.  I'll be watching :)

Best of luck from Florida.
