social security disability.Someone told me if you were over 55 yrs old and had fibromyalgia, that you were automatically eligible for social security disability. Is this true?

I don't believe you are ever "automatically" eligible for Social Security disability. There is a process that must be followed by anyone seeking this benefit. You can go to this website to start the application process:
