Why are there so many different theories of child development? Which one do you think best explains development?

I think the reason there are so many diverse child development theories is because so many different people have a lot of different opinions on the best way to raise their kids. I believe the best way is to show your child a tremendous amount of love & support. Listen to your child. Children aren't as sheltered as they once were-with media pushing things like sex & being thin down their throats, kids need a stable home life where they can ask questions w/out feeling embarrased. Communication is the key & knowing what your kids are doing & who they associate with are very important key points as well. Children don't come with manuals, but strict supervision can lead to a positive outcome & a well balanced child.

All things are possible if you set your mind to it. I love to help people if they have a problem & need advice.
