Discuss Jennifer's answer to: Difference of zhe4me and na4me in Chinese?

Hi, I’m Jennifer, an online Chinese teacher from Beijing China.

“zhe4me” and “na4me” have different usages in Chinese. “Na4me” refers to a faraway object while “zhe4me” refers to a comparatively near object. For example, it is raining outside now, you can say “zhe4me da4de yu3”. However, if you intend to refer to the heavy rain yesterday, you may say “na4me da4de yu3”.
