You'll have 2B more specific: Ployethylene is a defined material "hard plastic" is a large group of materials...... making it very hard to answer.

Polyethylene is also a plastic and it can be hard depending upon its density and composition. different types of polyethylene can be considered as hard plastic like High Density Polyethylene(HDPE) or Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET).
