I have tried Wii Sports, and my whole body felt sored the following day. The games did make me burn a lot of calories. http://www.best4health.net
They burn some calories, but not nearly as many as you could burn using standard exercise equipment or running outside.
Yes it does work and burn a ton of calories. It gets your body moving thats the important thing. With wii fit though you may not burn as many as it says you are burning but the numbers are not far off. Unfortunately it may not give you the end results that you are looking for. For me I ended up having to have a weight loss surgery. Can you believe the Gastric Bypass in Mexico cost only $10,000 vs 35k here. I couldnt pass that up and I am happy that I didnt.
I think the wii fit is quite good for the basic yoga and some of the muscle exercises as I can feel them working. You need your core muscles to be in good shape for good balance etc which is helpful when playing sports. I can work up a good sweat with hula hoop and step so i think you need to tailor your work out for you and just use it on days when you've not done any other exercise.
My exercise plan for days when I've done no exercise in the day but don't want to go out for whatever reason is:
Yoga: Sun salutation, the warrior, the triange, the bridge
Muscles: jack knife challenge, lunges, triceps
Aerobic: beginner jogging, hula hoop x3 and then free step while I'm watching the news
Hope that's helpful.
