DeVry's reputation

I have not read the reviews but have had some negative experiences with most of our students who attended. Most people think that since they are paying a lot to go, they must be better than the local community college. Wrong, they are at best equal - maybe. What they do provide is a very strong, competitent effort to get you employed after graduation. It is a matter of opinion whether you really get what you paid for.

DeVry's education is top notch.  It is one of the best private school out there.  Not to mention one of the largest universities in North America.  A lot of students, after graduation, earned close to six figure income.  As for earlier comment, the local community college must be very good for it to be equal to DeVry's education.  I haven't heard of any company that will not hire a person because he/she graduated from DeVry.  Well, if there's a company that does then it means the company can't afford DeVry's graduates.

I was recruited to be a representative for DeVry; I accepted the position because they have real teachers. The problem is when you are discriminated and humilliated as an employee. It also bothered me to see that the Assistant Director of Admissions did not believe in the University himself; as a matter of fact, one day the ADA and the other representative and myself had to fill-out a questionnaire comparing DeVry with other Universities. That day, the ADA started laughing by saying, "The students shouldn't be attending DeVry University; they should be attending Rose State College because at Rose State College they pay half per credit hour and they have more resources than DeVry (HA, HA, HA)" That made me very upset because it seemed like he was making fun of the students he had recruited since he has an AWARD! If you need to investigate more I submitted a complaint with the Human Rights Commission of Oklahoma City.

I graduated from DeVRY Long Island City Campus back in 2006.  Well worth every cent.  I was able to network with other students and thanks to this I was able to get a job before graduating.  I was making 95k within a 2 yrs of graduating and am now moving on to a better position as a Radiology Systems Administrator at a prestigious healthcare institution in NYC making 130k/yr plus bonus and tuition reimbursement. 

Prior to graduating, I went to Fiorello H. Laguardia Community College and obtained my AAS in Telecommunications.  I don't regret either move.  The community college gave me the foundation and DeVry allowed for me to build on it. 

No regrets.
