Gnarf is a silly nonsense word used in various contexts by people who are incapable of articulating themselves maturely and intelligently. 

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I personally enjoy doing this from time to time.  For example, I might go on an expedition to every tavern, dive, place where you never admit having been, in search of the elusive Gnarf.

 

Rumor has it that they are only found under the table . . ..

Actually, I found a cave painting of what we believe is the Gnarfus Rapacious.  This creature was obnoxious even for its time, having invented songs like, "I'm Henry the eighth, I am . . . second verse, same as the first!"

 

Here we see G. Rapacious in its cave surrounded by skeletons of people it has bored to death.
