Definitive bone disease

Here is a picture of definitive bone disease. A comminuted fracture of the right femur.

This patient will require open reduction of that fracture, possible resection or repair of the descending femoral artery, and possibly a vein graft.  If the fracture was caused by such as a gunshot then we're looking at other nastiness as well.  This person suffers from prodromal rheumatoid arthritis noting the severe calcification at the trocantor sutures and femoral socket.

Fortunately, I see no evidence of osteoporosis, but there is a suspicion of prodromal osteomyelitis without good pre-surgical prophylaxis.  I see good definition of the bone marrow, which is a hopeful sign.

Degenerative bone diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, osteomyelitis, etc) all require different treatment.  Any pat diagnosis is of course improper.
