I agree, a managed dedicated server is a better alternative to a regular dedicated server especially if you don't have enough time and/or knowledge to manage the server. What about the cost?

I would say the cost is too much and you should try to learn how to manage the dedicated server yourself or teach some to and pay them instead of shell out a ton of cash for a dedicated manager. This will help your overhead over time and its not too hard to learn it.
