Discuss charlie2911's answer to: Decorating

hi, can anyone tell me how to get a nice clean line when painting a strong colour next to a white ceiling or door frame etc? I've tried masking tape and an angled brush but still can't get a straight ...

i have tools made for this, and also made a longer one myself. Basically like a length of a venetian blind, or similar straight plastic or thin metal edge, with a handle stuck onto it at right angle. Cool

You'd never see a pro using something like that. The paint will be drawn under it, giving the crappy  line. I've worked construction for 26 years, and have never seen a painter use one of those. and rarely the use masking tape. It's always as I described above.

Ooops, except when spraying. They do use them for spraying paint.
