Is my daughter a socialpath?

My step daughter is 17. In the last year 1/2 she has become out of control. Doing what she wants when she wants with disregard for other..having sex and throwing tantrums beyond belief..lying, stealing, assualting us and when she calms down not remembering what she said. When the whole house is in an uproar from her fits she sits and does whatever like nothing ever happene and she doesn't care. could she be a socialpath?

Sounds more like a spoiled narcissist   on drugs.  Kick her out!!!WinkAs long as you take her crap she is going to dish it out.   You are letting her control ,dissrupt and disrespect  by not doing anything to remedy. Let her know that she can shape up or ship out!  Whatever you decide -----do not keep enabli ng her .....

I don't think she's a narcissist or sociopath, those are far different. What is sounds like to me is Bipolar Disorder. I myself am bipolar and went through all of that as a teenager. Athough unlike other girls my age doing similar things, the one that set us apart was not remembering my tantrums after. And when I did, I didn't see them as tantrums. To me, I was calmy and rationally expressing my feelings.

Now my bipolar disorder is under control and i only freak out like that when i miss a dose of my medication or something very deep sets me off.

 

Also, she could be acting out after a trauma. Maybe someone violated her, or she witnessed something horrific.
