FESTIVAL goers who are having a “bad hair day” have been promised a right royal makeover by a team of stylists and beauticians at the Belladrum Tartan Heart festival next month.
Lorraine Rutherford, co-owner of the Cutting Room, in Dingwall, is offering a free hair do to the “ten most horrendous examples of a bad hair day” sent in by Journal italicsreaders who have tickets for Belladrum and are over 16.
Lorraine, co-owner of the Cutting Room, explained: “This is our third year at Belladrum – we wanted to do something different this year, incorporating the royalty theme of the festival.
We want people who are having a bad hair day to send in a photo of themselves, giving a reason why they should be chosen for a makeover. We will select the ten most horrendous examples as the winners, who will be photographed after their makeovers.
“Apart from a free hair and face makeover, the 10 winners will each receive a Matrix goodie bag to take home.”
Lorraine expects her team will be kept busy during the festival weekend.
“Last year they were running down the fields towards us once the gates opened,” she said. “We had a queue of around 20 people on the first day. We expect to be just as busy this year, and will be taking bookings on site for the first time.
We will have a team of 20 people, about eight hairdressers and a couple of beauticians, at the festival,
We will be doing feathers and colour rub, pleating and dressing the hair up to make it festival ready. We intend to give festival goers a right royal hair do.”
She added: “We are really looking forward to the festival – the music, atmosphere and the people are always fantastic.”
