A high pH (or low acidity) in your stomach means that your stomach is not secreting enough acid.  A low enough pH (pH around 2) is necessary for protein to be digested.  This condition is called achlorhydria (no stomach acid secretion) or hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid secretion).  http://www.best4health.net
