Crohns problems

Can crohns disease cause pelvic pain and backaches or am I experiencing something else?  I had an mri for my crohns and was told my utereus was slightly abnormal.  Im 62 and have a lot of fistula scarring around my vagina so I am reluctant to go through an internal mri but I'm worried that the backache is due th uterine problems.  Anybody have any info?

Yes.

This is an inflammatory condition of the bowels that includes the entire wall, inside and outside. When the outside is inflamed, it can stick to other stuff, like your uterus.

Could your problems be the result of something else?

Yes.

I am around your age. If I get cancer, I believe that I am going to let it have its way; meaning no chemo or radiation. I suppose what I am telling you is that you need to make your decision as to what to do with respect to what are you willing to undergo in terms of treatment.

If what I said is not clear, repost your specific questions and I will take another shot here.

Keep close to Nature's heart... climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.* Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.*One of the widest gaps in human experience is the gap between what we say we want to be and our willingness to discipline ourselves to get there.

Please go and see your doctor and have some tests done :)

Blood tests to find out if your white blood cell count is high.  This will give you an idea as to whether you have inflammation/infection and need some medication to alleviate this.

Pain from one area can 'refer' to another, as all is connected.  Please also ask for your MRIs, as well as a colonscopy to assess the state of the inside of the bowel walls.

Could the uterine problem be separate?  Yes, it could.  But just go through the process of discovery and know when you know :)  Through this journey you may even become free of it all :)

Firstly though?  Just relax :)  Totally accept how you feel right now, observe the pain and let it go.  There will be spaces in between.  Focus on them.  Accept everything and act.  Do not react to all of this.  Do not allow your mind to run ahead of you and feel anxiety or fear of 'what could be'.  Just deal with the 'what is' and take each moment by moment.  Find and concentrate on things that make you smile and laugh.

Be gentle to yourself, not only in your thoughts and actions, but also in what you feed yourself and drink.  Keep away from sugar and this includes alcohol.  Milk products are hard to digest for most people, worse for people who are already suffering with bowel problems.  Use Goat products instead.  Meat is harder to digest, fish is easier and also look at more vegetarian options for protein.  Drink water, heaps of it.  It's important to keep the bowel moist.  Do not take pain relief that contains Codeine etc.  This will dry the bowel out and slow down peristolsis, the muscular action of the bowel, which can bring more pain.  I always used to used hot water bottles when the pain got too bad.  But after 40 years of owning Crohns Disease, I no longer have it :)  And that was 11 years ago and I'm now concentrating on being a poor writer, so that I can teach others!  Watch out for 'The Irritable Brain Syndrome'! :)

Back to you.  If you stress, feel fear, or anger for your situation, you keep blood hanging around the area.  The white blood cells have a job to do.  Your mind is telling them there's a problem.  If they have no 'bad' tissue to destroy, they will, if kept in the area for a while, work on the good tissue.  This ulcerates, this bleeds, this in turn gets termed as Crohns Disease, UC, C, IBD, etc. etc., whatever name 'they' can come up with for your symptoms.  And that's the difference.  'They' just deal with your symptoms.  What you need to work out is the cause :)

It's always an inside job :)

I wish you all the best for your journey
