Bye, Rolf
Crime rate varies in the Dominican Republic, as in any other country. Areas such as the capital ( Santo Domingo ) are prone to more crime because of high population density. The areas with less crime are the North Coast towns ( Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, Cofresi, Cabrera ). This is the reason why tourism and investment has grown in the North coast, specially in Sosua and Cabarete. Sosua Villas are now famous worldwide, because of the quiet environment in the town and its beautiful beaches.
