I am an LPN and have experience with herbal treatments that are not hard to find and really help!!

One safe thing to use for sleep is valerian tea or chamomille tea--use 2 teabags and let it steep a good 7-10 minutes. It is very calming and helps you rest.

For daytime anxiousness, there is an essential oil blend call Peace and Calming Oil. It can be used behind the ears, or ingested if you get the brand called Rescue Remedy--both are equally good and safe for children.

I really hope this helps you--will you let me know??

ADHD is a disability.  If you have no other options for getting his meds, I would file for disability for him so you have the money you need for the meds.  Once he turns of age, he can drop the disability if he chooses- it doesn't have to be a lifetime thing.  My son is ADHD, too and I have not found anything yet that does the job of proper medication.  Good luck to you - my heart goes out to you and your son both
