There shoud have been a warranty card with the coffee maker telling you how to do this either by snail mail or on-line.

Sometimes we put up walls not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.

I agree with UR193 if the warranty card was lost or somehow not included go on line get the phone number and call it in, a tech will take the info on the phone and register it that way (make sure you have either the box or the pot near you at the time). That happened to me with a weed eater, it took some searching to find the phone under all the different pages with the contact us (usually on the bottom of the page) before finally getting the phone number but after that it was smooth sailing!

I also agree with UR193. There should be warranty information included with the coffee maker (unless you happened to buy your coffee maker on the "grey market, in which case there may be no waranty at all!!). If you didn't legitimately obtain waranty info in the package, take it back to the store & tell them.

I don't know a little about everything, but I do know a lot about some things!
