Is there a differance between pupmkin puree and 100% pure canned pumpkin? It does not say puree on it.I`m trying to make pumpkin pudding
The definition of a food which has been pureed is a food (usually a fruit or vegetable) which has been put through a sieve, blender or food processor until it is of a smooth and standard consistency (no lumps, no skins, no seeds).
So I think you're safe to go ahead and use your canned pumpkin.
If your pumpkin puree is from a fresh pumpkin, it will be much thinner than the canned pumpkin and you will have to take steps to thicken it...(usually eggs that thicken while it cooks) I have experimented with the fresh and I find that I much prefer the canned variety.(not the "ready to bake"...I prefer to sugar and spice up my own) If you have a fresh whole pumpkin you can also cut it in good sized chunks....fill them with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon (like acorn squash) and bake.
