How can I make my chili not quite so hot after I put in too many spices?

I have read a lot of remedys add more tomatoes and beans it seems to work for me and when serving mild mild cheese on top

Oh and pS a spot of sugar and a sopt of peanut butter helps too

Brwon sugar kills heat.
