It is great to use as season for other foods, such as beans, or greens and many other things. Also use it to fry potatoes in. The taste will amaze you.
If you don't use it for cooking, just throw the can to the garbage. Don't pour it down the drain, it will block the pipes.
In the good old days, we had 4 normal uses for that can of fat.
1. Mix it with the dogs food. We didn't have obese dogs.
2. Use it to make pemican for camping trips.
3. Mix with seeds for the birds in the winter.
4. Rub a thin coat on your fishing lures.
You could make soap (science and cooking teachers, this means you...) ! Or biodiesel fuel. Maybe you could find someone who would want it for their own experiments.
you don't want to keep it forever - depending on how often you make bacon you could use the top....inch or so of a coffee can
I use bacon grease to fry just about everything, especially pork chops. Once you try it you will not want pork chops fixed any other way. It gives pork a good crust and doesn't give it a greasy taste. Just don't use a high heat.
When my husband and I were first married, he couldn't figure out why my cooking was way better than his first wife's. I just smiled and said, "I bet she never cooked with bacon grease!"
Personally, I use the bacon greese to fry potatoes!
Or to fry cabbage...or fresh snap beans and brocollie
I keep it refrigerated before using it!

I save my bacon grease and use it to cook other things, and it gives other things I cook a great flavor. My family and friends love my Southern style cream corn and when I cook that I use a small amount of bacon grease, and also for fresh green beans I add Bacon grease, and fried potatoes using bacon grease is the best. I also use it to fry cabbage, and to cook eggs.
Good eating
