YES

Here is the explication :

By default, playlists in Windows Media Player 9 Series or later are saved as Windows Media playlists with a .wpl file name extension. However, you can save a Windows Media playlist as an M3U playlist with a .m3u file name extension by doing the following:

1.

Click Library.

2.

In the Contents pane (the left pane), expand the My Playlists category, and then click a playlist.

3.

On the File menu, click Save Now Playing List As (Save Playlist As in Windows Media Player 9 Series), click Save as type, and then click M3U Playlist(*.m3u).

4.

In the File name box, type a file name for the M3U playlist, and then click Save.

Even if your portable device supports M3U playlists, the music in the playlist might not play properly after it is copied to your device. This may occur because the path and file name references for the audio files in the M3U playlist refer to a folder on your computer or on a shared network folder

No.  There is currently no good batch convert utility.  Some people will say there is, but I've looked at about a dozen of them and they are all bad.

But there is hope!  Check out Tag & Rename from Softpointer Inc.  http://www.softpointer.com/tr.htm  T&R is not only one of the best and most powerful MP3 tag utilities, but it has a "quick save as playlist".

I have several hundred WPL files, and although I had to make all new M3P files, T&R took a very short time to remake them.

I don't think you can do this in WMP10.  However a fix I've just found!  Within WMP10 get up the playlist window with tracks showing.  Then select all of them so they go blue.  Right click that list and select 'Open File Location'.  This opens Explorer AND selects those files.  Drag them to another player (such as Yahoo!) and then save the list as a Playlist.  The only downside is that it does not save the same play order.  Hope it works for you.

Can anyone explain .nra files to me?

You're welcome. Yeah, I love free software, and hate it when they claim free and then tell you it's just a trial period with restricted access to functions. ZDnet is pretty upfront about licensing, and some of the stuff really is free (and on my computer, now).
