So confused

can you hear 2 heart beats and just see one baby in an ultrasound? At 16wks my dr checked by baby's hr with a doppler and he heard 2 distinct heart rates. it's also heard by ultrasoiund but he couldn't see another baby. Is there somthing wrong with my one baby, or is there 2?

I would think that there are two babies. Maybe one is just quite a bit smaller than the other and is not showing on the untrasound. I send you my best wishes and hope that whatever the situation, everything is ok.
