I believe you reffer to the plant.  It's an Asian origin herb.  Became popular in California.  Many mists are connected to that plant e/g: helping women to get pregnant.  As far as I can recall it was not checked scientifically.  However psycology and mental state are very important and known 2B related to health.  So it's enough to believe in the power of something to help one getting cure and healthy.

It actually helps regulate cycles.. And inturn helps women to ovulate
