The problem here may be that the laptop doesn't have an optical drive. Many of the Dell 12 inch screen Latitudes didn't have one. If that's the case, here's what you can do. You will need an SD card and a card reader/writer. If you don't have one, Targus makes an economical read/write thumb drive for under 10 bucks. OK. After you get the card and drive, use your desktop computer to copy the disk to the SD card. BE SURE you copy, don't hit move this file by mistake, it will trash your CD. After you copy the disk to the SD card, you can plug your Thumb drive into a USB port on the laptop and proceed from there. I should have mentioned, you do have to have an active USB port on both your desktop and laptop computers. Good Luck
