To send or receive email you must have in/out servers provided by your ISP.   Sometimes they require authentication.  Your ISP will notify you if it is required.  An incoming server is the Pop 3 and the out going server is SMTP.  If you did not enter this information when setting up your email account it will not work.  If you are getting a message that the server could not be found either it is not entered or it is entered with the wrong info.  Try setting up account over again being sure to enter servers and making no typos.  This having been done it should work.
