If a church is a place to worship God,how can they call it a church when they dont believe in God?

Since atheists quite obviously have a god complex, the church is their place to go to worship themselves in all their glory.

It's a contradictory thing.  They're going to meet to worship no one?  Doesn't make any sense.  A meeting of atheists to do something else makes sense.  Not a church meeting.

Why don't protestants believe in freedom of religion?

I can tell you right now thats one of the reasons the US has atheist churchs. That reason is to oppose you.

Why would u go to a church/congregation of you don't believe in god?? If you don't believe that we can from an almighty power why dedicate your time to a group of people that will probably just meet up to hang out?? Don't you already do that on the daily??? Go to a city council meeting if u want to be around a group.. I am a believer in Christ and I don't force my religion on anyone just like I believe people have a right to believe what ever they wAnt but why not give god a try you would rather believe that we evolved from monkeys wow... I would rather take my chance with doing research or just simply asking god to reveal his self and mean it and I promise u god will show you who he is.again I know I will get negative comments but some one out there is running out of hope and I pray that this will register in someone's heart to at least give god a try... And take into consideration I'm not putting Any one down for there decision I'm not saying I'm better then any one I'm not forcing what I believe on no one and if a christian is doing any of these things I will be the first to tell you as a representative for god that either those people are not with Christ or new to the faith my god preaches love peace and taking care of those in need don't get fooled by how some Christians act and give the faith a bad name if u base all of us on the negative image some portray thats sterotyping we are all human and Christians just realize we Are sick tHas why we go to dr Jesus. Not because we're perfect... P.s just because u don't believe in Satan doesn't mean he isn't real be careful it's a spiritual war going on daily

Don't know about atheist churchs it seems more christians know about them than most atheists do in this Country, they sound boring I never seen much in christian churchs as a kid growing up, don't think I'd see much in an atheist church either.

Watch out for Unitarian universalitsts.  They certainly have a church, but are not required to believe in God (I know several UU ministers who do not believe in God), or can be polytheistic.  They are a church of many differing beliefs with the one central doctrine being...believe whatever you want.  In short, they are already here!

Atheist churchs have been in the US for 15 years or so now that I know of. You can even get married in them, try it some time, if anything you would have something to tell your gran kids. After all, christian churchs have always been more than adiment to marry atheists in their churchs. Weither atheist or christian churchs - There all open to all as the way it should be. Today Obama gave an announcment that he's in support of gay marriage. Its about time all have that right.
