Why is the BCS used as the standard for ranking college football teams when many of the non-BCS teams end each year better than teams from BCS conferences?
The BCS Average is calculated by averaging the percent totals of the Harris Interactive, USA TODAY Polls, and computer rankings. It is supposed to be the best system around, but like you said, there have been years where the best team has not won. There has been talk to improve the system, but no major changes have come about and to be honest with you I don't see any real changes to this system. What needs to be done is hire Charlie Epps from Numb3rs to fix it.
